The Hepworth Wakefield
"One of the finest contemporary art museums in Europe." The Independent
The Hepworth Wakefield is the country's largest purpose-built gallery in nearly 50 years and is named after Wakefield-born sculptor Barbara Hepworth. Inside this inspiring gallery you'll find a unique collection of sculptures by Barbara Hepworth, as well as changing exhibitions by world-famous artists.
The Hepworth makes a gallery trip fun for children and grown-ups alike, with a family gallery trail to help you explore the galleries, a riverside play park and picnic area, and there's fun at weekends and school holidays, with free and paid for activities: help us make giant sculptures, become an art detective with our explorer packs or discover how to carve like Barbara Hepworth in one of our workshops.
