As a consortium of the best attractions in the UK, all situated in the Yorkshire region, they are excellently placed to either visit one for a fun day out or combine a few as part of an action packed break.

Yorkshire's Magnificent Attractions live up to their name with a 97% public recommendation rate

A recent survey has shown that over 97% of visitors to Yorkshire’s Magnificent Attractions would recommend the attractions they visited to a friend with 100% of Thackray Museum visitors happy to do the same.

The surveys took place as part of an annual research programme which aims to capture the patterns of visitors to each attraction. 500 surveys took place at seven of the eight main attractions across on and off peak periods in July and October.

Yorkshire’s Magnificent Attractions was founded 10 years ago and is a consortium of 13 of the best attractions in the Yorkshire region. The group works together on combined marketing activity and collaborates on best practice.

Deborah Hindley, Yorkshire’s Magnificent Attractions Consortia Manager said;

“We carry out exit research each year and have always found that high numbers of visitors are happy to recommend the attractions, but this year the results were even higher than expected. To have achieved 97% at all attractions illustrates the high standards of facilities and excellent service the group has to offer. The changing events and exhibitions which take place at each attraction ensure that there is always something new to see and the level of recommendations in partnership with repeat visitors show that the hard work pays off. All of our members should be very proud.”

Rachel Bannister, Marketing Manager for Magna Science Adventure Centre, added;

“We are really pleased with the results of this year’s research, in addition to the near perfect numbers of people who would recommend the group, over 95% were more than satisfied with their visit. We work extremely hard as members of the group and as individual attractions to ensure we give our visitors a great day out. The quality of the day out and the experience gained largely depends on the information and services supplied. We therefore invest a lot of time and budget to training and development each year, dedicating our efforts to a continual process of improvement. To have such a high response is fantastic.”

Yorkshire’s Magnificent Attractions is looking forward to a successful 2010 with many activities and events for all the family to enjoy.
