Eureka! gives visitors 'many happy returns' with unlimited 12 month access

Article published on 02 February 2010

Visitors to Eureka! The National Children’s Museum in Halifax, West Yorkshire will celebrate the museum’s 18th birthday with a new style admission ticket offering unlimited family fun for 12 whole months. The introduction of the ticket is the first of many celebrations taking place this year to mark the museum’s coming of age.

The new ticket, known as an annual pass, will be available to all visitors from Monday 1 February 2010. Prices will be £8.95 for adults and children aged 3+ and £2.95 for children age 1-2. Babies age 0-11 months will continue to be free of charge. A saver ticket for five people will be £38.50.

Leigh-Anne Stradeski, Chief Executive of Eureka! said: “We wanted to create a new admission structure that would make Eureka! as accessible as possible to everyone, particularly those who have to think about the money they spend on a day out and who are being affected by the current economic climate.

“This pricing structure still makes us good value for a one off visit, but for people who just can’t get enough of Eureka!, especially local and regional families, this is amazing value as they can come back as often as they want for 12 months. For less than £40 a family of five will be able to enjoy unlimited play at Eureka! over a 12 month period.”

Eureka! is an educational charity that receives no regular funding from Government, so all the admission charges are used to keep the museum running.

The new pass will be in full swing for February half-term when the museum will entertain 100s of children and families with the Eureka! Winter Games, an alternative Winter Olympics with obstacle courses and sleigh racing.
